None whatsoever, you could still put a top of the line QX9770 with 128mb of RAM. No correlation sir.

  • Floppy (drive A) is not seen by Windows (jasonalwaysready posted this at 02:13 PM)
Ok.. I borrowed floppy drive from my friend, mainly because I want to flash BIOS of my computer. I put it in, connected the power and floppy connectors. Turn on my computer and loged into my account.. But Windows do not show that drive A is there.. And it also can't read any floppy disks.. Does anyone know what can be wrong? Why this floppy drive doesn't working?
  • CPU help. Can some one explain them? (rkagin posted this at 01:37 PM)
I want to begin plans on building a computer because the computer I have now is ridiculously slow. I figured I'd start with finding the right price & performance CPU, then find a mother board that supports it. However, this is beginning to look impossible. I have no idea how good a processor is. I wouldn't know the difference between a week processor and a strong processor. I remember once upon a time you generally went by its Operating Frequency: the higher the number the faster and better t
  • Current PSU inadequate for 9800 GTX, suggestions? (ricanflow posted this at 01:35 PM)
That PSU should run the 9800GTX fine. I would look for another problem. The q6600 doesn't use as much power as many people think it does. I just set it to 2.6ghz 1.25v and at full load prime95 it uses 56.25 Watts according to Asus EPU. Of course when you put 1.488v through it and set it to 3.8ghz I'd imagine that number goes up by QUITE a bit.

  • Laser Mice (S0ULphIRE posted this at 09:01 PM)
it's fairly true, though it can depend on the surface it's being used on. old school mousepads were intended to provide a relatively clean surface and enough friction for the ball to turn. however mousepads are good to keep the pads on the bottom of the mouse clean and prevent wear. these days the biggest benefit you'll get from one is your mouse will move smoother.
  • Suggestion (Lasrix posted this at 08:08 PM)
Hey Folks! It's that time again. Another build is to be made. I have a few things i wanna ask you guys but i'll just bother you all with just one for now. The topic is hard drives. I'm looking to go big with the rig but I'm also looking for quality, some quiet and performance. My question being: Shall i go with a Velociraptor, 2x74Gb Raptors in Raid 0 or 2x250gb Hdd's in Raid 0? I know the obvious answer is gonna be the Velociraptor and second being the regular raptors. The thing I'm
  • computer to handle certain programs (krptodr posted this at 04:49 PM)
i agree with the above, just make yourself the middleman. dont worry so much about getting comps with the most advanced graphics cards in them as these programs dont use them. larger monitors are best, because in cad and ps you want screen real estate. just try to upgrade to better cpus and ram. my work got me a dell precision T3400 and it eats up everything ive thrown at it... a few months ago, and they wanted around 1100-1300 a piece for them, with a good sized monitor too...
  • My first build! Help me make it a good one :D (Jake2k posted this at 02:33 PM)
Mouse and keyboards, any generic ones will do unless you're a gamer of course. Then I would recommend the higher end Logitech Laser mouse's. Otherwise, Microsoft makes great wireless optical or laser grade mice. I have two myself. You don't need a lot of high powered or high performance device with that setup you have. I would go with something simple and cost effective like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153023]Newegg.com - Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430

  • Desktop Freezes When Closing IE6 SP1 (Mak213 posted this at 08:59 PM)
Hello, The issues can be far and wide when it comes to your system. Windows ME is not supported and has not been updated. So your using IE6 that hasnt been patched in over a year could be why. You might not have a critical update that is needed to run the browser efficently on your OS. I would wager to guess that would be the issue cause those websites in question could be heavily coded for IE7 or Firefox and not work well in IE6. I would update Java, Flash Player and your shockwave.

Hello, Basically what her father did is use that control userpassword2 setup to have her PC auto logon and log right into the network. What you need to do is get it logging on with her user profile again. Can do it right there. But be careful with that option as it will just load right to her desktop with out being prompted for a password. When that screen comes up click the box for user must enter a password. This should allow you to use the regular User Control selection screen to se

If not, cancel out of the installation, and open up Computer > Right click on the disc > go to Explore > and find Setup.exe. Right click it and choose 'Run as Administrator'. A box should come up that asks if you would like to continue, pick Continue. See if that works. IF it doesn't, you can always try disabling UAC altogether (Go to Control Panel > User Accounts
